چکیده

In recent works the authors have shown that it is possible to retrieve the full velocity vector of a moving target from Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) data using a single sensor. This paper addresses the design of the radiation antenna pattern leading to the best velocity estimates. Aiming at this goal, the Fisher information matrix for the unknown moving targets velocity parameters is computed as function of the antenna radiation pattern. The optimal antenna radiation pattern is then inferred. Simulation results comparing the optimal solution with common antenna radiation patterns shows the advantage of the former.

SAR Moving Objects Trajectory Estimation: Solving the Blind Angle Ambiguity with a Single Sensor

The Fisher information matrix for the unknown moving targets velocity parameters is computed as function of the antenna radiation pattern. The resultant matrix is analysed and the characteristics that the antenna gain should exhibit in order to enhance the estimation of the unknown moving objects velocity vector are deduced. Simulation results comparing the various antenna radiation patterns en...

Moving Targets Detection, Imaging and Full Velocity Vector Estimation Using a Single SAR Sensor

This paper presents a novel method to determine the complete velocity vector of a moving target using a single Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) sensor. The method exploits the structure of the returned echo from a moving target: in the slow-time frequency domain, it is a scaled and shifted replica of the antenna radiation pattern immersed in Gaussian noise; the scale and the shift are related wit...

Moving Target Motion Parameter Estimation in Two-Channel SAR-GMTI

Part 1: Two-channel SAR-GMTI systems are suboptimal for moving target motion parameter estimation. Indeed, the ATI phase estimate of a moving target across-track velocity component is biased to lower values depending on the target signal to clutter ratio and the target across-track velocity. Additional antenna diversity can introduce additional degrees of freedom th...

Moving Target Detection on SAR Images

Synthetic aperture radar (SAR) is a well known technique for generating high-resolution images stationary scenes but it is not adapted to imaging moving targets as the movement of a target induces both a delocalization and a defocusing effect in a SAR image. The aim of this paper is to analyse the signatures of moving targets in SAR images and to present techniques to detect them, from one sing...

Moving Target Indication via Three-Antenna SAR with Simplified Fractional Fourier Transform

Ground moving target indiction (GMTI) is of great important for surveillance and reconnaissance, but it is not an easy job. One technique is the along-track interferometry (ATI) synthetic aperture radar (SAR), which was initially proposed for estimating the radial velocity of ground moving targets. However, the measured differential phase may be contaminated by overlapping stationary clutter, l...
